Skype Certified.
Skype Certified recognises devices that not only work brilliantly with Skype but also look and feel great. The Skype Certified logo demonstrates both Skype’s faith in the product and our partnership with the manufacturer.
Membership of the Skype Certified program provides you with major marketing, retail and distribution opportunities. We’ve had some great feedback about the program from our partners – some of them have seen their sales double or even quadruple thanks to that little label and the opportunities it provides. It’s an indication of a real partnership where we can help each other to succeed.

Guidelines
Skype Certified is specially created for devices that not only work brilliantly with Skype but also look and feel great. Our technical specification will help you to ensure that your device works perfectly with Skype. Skype Industrial Design Guidelines (pdf 462 KB) have been created to assist you in designing a device which will delight Skype users and the Skype Certification team. The market and technology is evolving constantly and therefore so must our solution requirements. For this reason, already Skype Certified solutions must be retested every 12 months.
If your device meets both the Skype Technical Requirements and Industrial Design Guidelines (pdf 462 KB) you’ll have a great chance of becoming Skype Certified.
Conditions
1. Testing
Skype Certified devices must pass our technical tests and meet our design requirements. Membership in the Skype Certified program is then subject to contract negotiation.
2. Terms and conditions
You must read and agree with the Terms and Conditions carefully while submitting a solution to be tested.
3. Contract
If you pass all our technical and design tests we will need to complete a contract. This outlines how we will work together and summarises the rules for taking part in the Skype Certified program, including:
- Use of the Skype brand
- Royalty payments required
- Promotions and marketing
- Provision of solution support Skypename/number/email address
4. Packaging approval
Guidelines for how you can include Skype branding and the Skype Certified logo on your packaging will be made available to you. Our marketing team will work with you to help you understand how these can be applied to your packaging and they’ll also need to approve your packaging and the use of the Skype Certified logo before it’s finalised. Please allow time for this in your development and manufacturing processes.
