Guide for callers

Skype Prime is a great way to pick up new skills and advice from the comfort of your own home. Here are some guidelines to help you choose an advisor, leave reviews for other callers, and get the best value for your money.

Who can use Skype Prime?

You can use Skype Prime if you are over 18 years old and have the latest version of Skype. Download it now

Paying for the call

Skype is free to download and use. However, Skype Prime advisors offer a service and charge for passing on their expertise.

Free Start All Prime calls start free – and you only start being charged for the call once you've given your OK to the rate. If you reject the payment request the advisor will be notified and you'll need to discuss what to do next.

Swap Services If the advisor offers more than one service and you'd like to swap services during a call, they will send a new payment request so you can accept the rate for the new service.

How to pay for a call

You pay for Skype Prime calls with Skype Credit. You can also use your credit to call phones and mobiles from Skype, plus buy equipment like webcams, headsets and microphones from the Skype shop. To buy credit, sign into Skype and go to Account > Buy Skype Credit, or you can visit skype.com/go/myaccount and enter your login details.

Skype Credit > Call Phones

Because you pay for the call with Skype Credit, there is no need to tell an advisor your bank details or Skype login details. Do not share this information, and report any advisor who asks for it.

Choosing an advisor

You can search for advisors using keywords, or by browsing a subject area. To help you find the advisor who's right for your needs, check:

  • Price – compare advisors in the same category and what they offer in relation to what they're charging.
  • Language – is the service offered in a language you can speak?
  • Video – does the advisor offer video, if you would prefer to learn this way?
  • Experience and qualifications – scan the advisor's description for credentials you can trust.

Feedback, reviews and complaints

You can leave a review at the end of each Skype Prime call. It's a great way to build up a reference guide for other callers, plus support advisors who offer a high quality of service.

If you have had a particularly disappointing experience, you can contact Customer Support to request a refund. If you feel that an advisor has violated the Terms of Service of Skype Prime, you can click on the Report abuse link while you are in the call.
