Video snapshot — capture your memories
Video snapshot is a great new feature which lets you capture pictures of your friends and family during video calls or even use your own webcam to take a photo of yourself.
Taking a video snapshot during video calls
Start a video call
You'll need to be in a video call to use video snapshot. Find out more about video calling.
Take a video snapshot
During the call, click Menu on the contact card of the person you are talking to and view the different video and call options. Select Take a Video Snapshot.
View the video snapshot
Your snapshot will appear in a new window where you can edit it. Name your snapshot and it will be saved in My Skype Pictures by default.
Take multiple video snapshots
You can take a number of video snapshots – each image will appear as a thumbnail picture and the most recent snapshot will be highlighted.
Hover over the picture for options
There are a number of ways to edit video snapshots. Hover over an image and icons will appear – use these to edit the image.
Manage your video snapshots
To retrieve and manage your snapshots after the call go to Tools > Video Snapshots
