It’s easy and quite cheap to call both local and international phones and mobiles directly from Skype. The clever guide inside Skype will help you dial the number the right way (including those tricky plusses or double zeroes you need sometimes) and you can just chat away.
How much does it cost?
There are two ways to pay to make calls: monthly subscriptions include unlimited calls to landlines² in selected countries and regions – you also get Skype To Go and online numbers included. Or with Pay As You Go you add some money to your account and then you just pay for calls as you make them.
It’s just 1.4 pence¹ per minute (incl. VAT) to our 30 most popular destinations, but there’s a big list of rates to destinations everywhere in the world.

How SkypeOut works
On the Call Phones tab within Skype, enter a phone number (we’ll help you get the country code right) and hit the big, green call button and start chatting. When you begin to run low on credit, it’s a quick trip back to your Account page to top up.
Did you know?
If you have your own onlinenumber you can set it up so it’s displayed when you call someone on their mobile. That way they’ll know it’s their special someone (you, that is) calling.
Call phones and mobiles works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Windows Mobile, WiFi phones, Cordless phones, Skype To Go.
