How Skype To Go works
Sam’s based in the US, so he’s got a US Skype To Go number. His family is back in Australia, plus he picks up work from some design contacts in Japan. Sam has set his family up as speed dials, so when he gets a text from his mum, he can call her there and then on his mobile. He just calls his Skype To Go number and listens to the calling menu – “To call Mum, press 1”. When he notices a missed call from a new contact in Tokyo, he can call Skype To Go, then tap in their phone number instead of hitting a speed dial – and reach them faster than you can say “Moshi moshi”.
How much does it cost?
Skype To Go calls are made up of three charges:
- Your operator will charge you a standard fee to call your Skype To Go number (this may be free as part of your inclusive minutes).
- Skype will charge you for the call to the destination (number of the person you want to reach abroad), but this may be included in your subscription. See which calls and countries are included in our subscriptions or check rates to all destinations.
- If the call is not included in your subscription there is a small connection fee.
