Find and join a Skypecast
Skypecasts are large, hosted calls on Skype that bring internet conversations to life. Join them to connect with new people who share your interests, or surprise yourself and pick a totally random Skypecast. Anyone can joine and it’s all free
Make sure you’ve got the latest version of Skype
Skype 3.0 is free to download and easy to use. You can also read our getting started guide to see everything you need to know about Skype.
Find an interesting Skypecast
Browse the Skypecasts directory or check the Live tab in your Skype software to find a discussion that catches your interest.
Join the conversation
On the Skypecasts directory, click “Join this Skypecast“ to take part in the Skypecast.
From within Skype, go to the ‘Live tab’ and click ‘Talk or listen’ to take part in the Skypecast.
Have your say
When you’d like to speak you can request the microphone by clicking the ask to talk button. The Skypecast host will see that you’d like to speak and can then pass the virtual microphone to you.
Hosting your own Skypecast
If you’ve got something to say, why not host your own Skypecast? Pick a subject that you’re passionate about, select a time, and your Skypecast will be listed in the directory for anyone to discover and join.
