Video snapshot — capture your memories
Take a new photo of yourself and use it to update your profile picture. You'll need a webcam to take snapshots of yourself.
Taking a self portrait
- Click your name in main window of Skype, then click Personalise > Change your Picture.
- Click the Take video snapshot button to activate your webcam. You must have your webcam connected to activate this option.
- If you're happy with the image of yourself, click the Capture button at the bottom of the window.
- A three-second count down sound will happen after which the snapshot is taken.
Resizing the picture
Resize your image by using the resize tool (bottom left) and drag the frame to select the final image to show. If you're not happy then just take another snapshot.
Saving your snapshots
Once you're happy with your photo click Save snapshot. The picture will be saved to your My Skype Pictures folder. The snapshot will now be set as your avatar picture.
