“I am 17 years old and currently in 6th form in Oxfordshire. My grandad lives in London but spent most of his early life in Italy. He calls me Gavino which is why I use the name when I sign up anywhere. He got into computers and knew that I was into computers too.
We now regularly (a few times a week) talk on Skype either to discuss things or so he can explain any problems with his computer where I can give him advice on how to fix it. It is really great that now we have something in common, and can use Skype to keep our relationship strong. We sort of have a special bond now. I love it!
We are closer now because we talk on the internet all the time. Before it was just a normal family relationship – we’d only get together at family meetings. Now we talk all the time. He’ll instant message me and then we’ll chat.”
