Say it with Skype – send special birthday greetings to friends
Join the band. Sing "Happy Birthday". Send it to your friend.
Create a dazzling group video greeting with the band CSS, Imogen Heap or another group from our lineup, then share it via Skype, Facebook, Twitter or email. It's the extra special way to say happy birthday.
Where will you use group video?
At home
Experience the magic of having your loved ones together for regular family catch ups. Ideal if you work from home, too. Simply add two or more people to a video call to get together face-to-face.
To get group video at home, you'll need a Skype Premium subscription.
At work
Group video calling can help you to build relationships and work effectively with colleagues, customers and clients from all over the world. Plus cutting down on travel means more time with loved ones at home.
To get group video across your business, set it up in Skype Manager.
What do you need?
At least one person on the call needs Skype Premium or a group video subscription from Skype Manager.
For everyone on the call to see video, each person needs:
- a webcam (discount available with purchase of Skype Premium).
- a broadband connection.
- Skype 5.0 or higher or the Skype business version.
Remember to invite contacts to join you on the latest version.
System requirements
Group video calls can be between three or more people (up to a maximum of 10). For the best quality, we recommend calls with up to five people.
For the best video quality, we recommend you use a high-speed broadband connection of 4 Mbps down/512 kbps up and a computer with a Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz processor. The minimum you'll need is a high-speed broadband connection of 512 kbps down/128 kbps up and a computer with a 1 GHz processor.
Note: people with Skype video-enabled mobiles are currently able to join group video calls via voice only.

Add people on mobiles
People who don't have Skype can join the call on mobiles. They won't be able to see or share video, but can join the call via voice.
Instant messaging
While you're on the call, type messages to anyone of the other participants, plus share web links over IM.
Send files
Send files of any size while you're on the call - from cake recipes to work presentations.
No emergency calls with Skype
Skype is not a replacement for your telephone and can't be used for emergency calling.
